Do I need a green card for a caravan, trailer tent or trailer?
If you are travelling to or through a foreign country with a caravan, trailer tent or trailer, its licence plate is important for the validity of the green card.
- If your caravan or trailer has a different licence plate number than your car, it is important to apply for a separate insurance certificate.
- If the caravan, trailer tent or trailer weighs less than 750 kg, your current green card means you are insured against accidents that happen in the countries listed on the green card.
- If the caravan, trailer tent or trailer weighs more than 750 kg, you will need a different green card in Germany, Poland and Spain. Instead of code AF, your green card must include code F.
Do you need a different green card? Send an email to: info@directlease.nl.

I have accrued a no-claim discount. Will you honour that?
We use a collective commuted no-claim/bonus malus percentage. We therefore cannot honour any individually accrued no-claim/bonus malus discounts. As a result of our volume agreements, we are able to offer a high discount percentage that everyone benefits from. As an added benefit, the premium in your lease agreement is not dependent on your accident record.

Who is liable to pay the deductible in the event of damage?
Damaging your vehicle is never a good thing. If you prefer to report the damage using your smartphone, you can do so via www.mobielschademelden.nl.
Damage caused by a counterparty
If the damage to your vehicle can be recovered from the counterparty, you will not have to pay a deductible.Damage without a (known) counterparty
If the damage was caused by e.g. vandalism or an unknown counterparty, you must file a police report. As the damage cannot be recovered from a counterparty, your employer will be liable to pay the deductible.Questions?

What is covered by “Personal Accident Insurance” (PAI)?
In an accident, the driver and passenger(s) of a vehicle may suffer injuries. This can have major financial ramifications, as the costs of additional aid, special facilities at home or retraining can be significant. The PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) is a supplementary insurance that pays out a percentage of the insured amount in the event of death or permanent disability. It is important to note that the PAI coverage only extends to the number of belted seats in a vehicle. Consult the registration certificate for this information.
A PAI supplements your car insurance. The PAI will pay out a fixed amount in the event of permanent disability or death of one or more passengers in your vehicle.
This insurance will also pay out if you caused the damage yourself or if the liability of the driver or counterparty cannot be determined, meaning the damage is non-recoverable. The coverage applies in the countries listed on the insurance certificate.

What are the consequences of a total loss?
It is of course very unpleasant if your lease vehicle is declared a total loss. The consequences of a total loss depend on who caused the damage: you or the counterparty.
The damage is your own fault
If the total loss of your vehicle is your own fault, you will only pay the deductible listed in your lease agreement. The damage was caused by the counterparty
If the total loss of your vehicle is not your own fault, all damages can be recovered from the counterparty and you will not have to pay a deductible.Termination of lease agreement
In the event of a total loss, your lease agreement will be terminated per the date of the accident that caused the damage.Questions?

Is it possible to lease a vehicle without insurance?
One of the major benefits of leasing from DirectLease is that you sign a Full Operational Lease agreement. This means that your lease price includes all fees, including insurance. The only exception is fuel costs. As the insurance is included in our full-service lease package, we do not offer the option of leasing a vehicle without insurance. Additionally, our insurance policies ensure you get the best service at affordable rates.

If someone else drives my lease vehicle, are they insured?
You are allowed to let someone else, e.g. a colleague or family member, drive your lease vehicle. The car will still be insured. Note that the person driving your car must have a valid Dutch driver's licence. Additionally, they cannot drive the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and they cannot take part in a rally race. It is not allowed to rent out the lease vehicle or use it as a taxi.
The driver is insured through their own health insurance.
