Toll
-
From December 7, 2024, electronic toll (e-toll) will be introduced on the new A24/Blankenburg connection.
E-toll is an electronic toll system where you pay the toll either in advance or after using the road, without needing to stop. Cameras mounted above the road register the licence plates of passing vehicles, eliminating the need for toll booths.
After using the A24, the toll must be paid within 72 hours. If payment is not made on time, you will receive a reminder. Currently, this reminder is free of charge, but starting from December 7, 2025, a reminder fee of €8.00 will apply.
If the toll and reminder are not paid by the due date, the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) will issue a fine in addition to the outstanding toll.
You can find the current toll rates here.

How can I dispute an e-toll in the Netherlands?
Do you disagree with the toll reminder? You can request a correction. This also gives you access to photos of the toll crossing. You can do this on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management: correction request.
Enter the licence plate number and toll reference number (found on the payment reminder) and follow the instructions. After viewing the photos, you can choose to either pay the reminder or proceed with the correction request. You will receive a decision by email within five working days.
You may also submit your dispute by post. Send a letter to:
RDW Toll Collection
Postbus 304
9640 AH Veendam
The NetherlandsBe sure to include the toll reference number, the licence plate number and the reason for your dispute.
In this matter, DirectLease B.V. authorises the driver to file the appeal on behalf of DirectLease B.V.
