Do I need a green card for a caravan, trailer tent, or trailer?
If you're travelling abroad with a caravan, trailer tent, or trailer, the license plate plays an important role in determining whether your green card is valid.
- If the caravan, trailer tent, or trailer weighs less than 750 kg, it is covered by third-party liability (WA) insurance for incidents that occur in the countries listed on the green card.
- If it weighs more than 750 kg, it is important that the trailer’s license plate is listed on the green card. You can request a green card with your car and trailer details by filling in your information via the following link:
https://directlease.nl/voor-klanten/leaserijders/verzekeringsbewijs-groene-kaart
Travelling to Germany, Poland or Spain?
You’ll need an additional green card with code F instead of AF. To request this, please email your request to: info@directlease.nlImportant: The caravan or trailer itself is not insured.
Any damage to the trailer or caravan caused by an accident, fire or theft is not covered by the standard insurance. To cover these risks, you will need to take out separate insurance for your trailer or caravan.Questions?

DirectLease Content Creator zei: I have built up a no-claim discount. Can I transfer it to you?
We operate with a collectively negotiated no-claim/bonus-malus discount. As a result, we do not transfer individual no-claim or bonus-malus discounts. However, thanks to our large volume agreements, we offer a high discount level that benefits everyone.
An added advantage is that the insurance premium within the lease contract remains unaffected by your individual claims history.

Who is responsible for the deductible in case of damage?
Damage to your car is always unfortunate. If the damage was caused by another party, it is important that you and the other party complete a damage report form and send it to: schade@directlease.nl. Would you prefer to report the damage via your mobile phone? You can do so at www.mobielschademelden.nl.
Damage involving another party
If the damage can be recovered from the other party, no deductible will be charged.Damage without (a known) party
If the damage was caused by vandalism or an unknown party, you must file a police report. The deductible will then be charged to your employer, as the damage cannot be recovered from a third party.Questions?

What is covered by “Personal Accident Insurance” (PAI)?
In an accident, the driver and passenger(s) of a vehicle may suffer injuries. This can have major financial ramifications, as the costs of additional aid, special facilities at home or retraining can be significant. The PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) is a supplementary insurance that pays out a percentage of the insured amount in the event of death or permanent disability. It is important to note that the PAI coverage only extends to the number of belted seats in a vehicle. Consult the registration certificate for this information.
A PAI supplements your car insurance. The PAI will pay out a fixed amount in the event of permanent disability or death of one or more passengers in your vehicle.
This insurance will also pay out if you caused the damage yourself or if the liability of the driver or counterparty cannot be determined, meaning the damage is non-recoverable. The coverage applies in the countries listed on the insurance certificate.

What happens if your car is declared a total loss?
If your lease car is declared a total loss, that’s obviously very frustrating. What happens next depends on who caused the damage: you or someone else.
Your fault
If the accident was your fault, you only pay the insurance excess that’s agreed in your lease contract. Not your fault
If the accident wasn’t your fault and the other party is liable, everything can be recovered from them. You don’t have to pay an excess.Lease contract ends
If your car is a total loss, your lease contract will always end. This happens on the date of the accident.Any questions?

Is the car insured if someone else drives it?
Yes! It’s perfectly fine to let someone else drive your lease car – like a colleague or a family member. The car will still be insured.
The driver must hold a valid Dutch driving licence and may not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or participate in a rally. The lease car also cannot be rented out or used as a taxi.
Please note: the driver themselves is covered by their own health insurance.
