Insurance certificates (green cards) are only required when traveling to or through countries marked in green on the following website: https://www.cobx.org/highcharts-maps
Examples of countries where a (paper) green card must be shown include: Albania, Iran, Israel, Morocco, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, and Belarus.
How to request a green card
If you are planning to visit one of these countries, you can request your insurance certificate or green card here: Request your green card
Please note: in these countries, the green card must physically be green. You can either print the certificate on green paper yourself or request a printed version from us free of charge. Make sure to request this at least one week before your trip so you receive it by post on time.
Is your destination not listed above? Then carrying a green card is not mandatory, but we do recommend it. You may use a digital version or a black-and-white printout.
