The MOT (APK in Dutch) is a mandatory roadworthiness test required by law in Europe.
Petrol or electric cars
The first MOT is due after 4 years. After that, the car must be inspected every 2 years until it’s 8 years old. From then on, it needs to be tested every year.
Diesel or LPG cars
The first MOT is due after 3 years, then the car must be inspected annually.
MOT reminder
The current expiry date of your MOT can be found on the RDW website. But don’t worry – we’ll send you a reminder by email 8 weeks before your car’s MOT is due.

You can easily schedule the appointment yourself via the workshop planner. You choose the day and time that suits you best!
Important:
As the driver, it’s your responsibility to make sure the MOT is carried out on time.
