• What happens if I get a traffic ticket?

DirectLease receives all traffic tickets from the Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) and other organisations. In principle, these are sent via email to your employer. If you prefer to receive any traffic tickets yourself, you can ask us to send them to you directly.

    Paying traffic tickets
All traffic tickets must be paid directly to the organisation that issued it, without any involvement from DirectLease. To avoid additional costs, we advise you to pay your tickets without delay.

Let op: traffic tickets issued in the municipalities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam and in France have a short payment term. To avoid reminders, DirectLease will immediately pay these tickets out of its own account. The costs will then be billed to your employer.

    Reminders
DirectLease will also immediately pay any reminders out of its own account and bill the costs to your employer. Keep in mind that we will charge an administrative fee in addition to the higher ticket fee.

If you have made special agreements regarding traffic tickets with your employer, these agreements will take precedence over the aforementioned provisions.

  • What can I do if I disagree with a traffic ticket?

If you receive a traffic ticket that you believe to be unwarranted, you can file a written objection.   Instructions on how to do this are printed on the ticket itself.

    Authorisation DirectLease
To file an objection, you will need an authorisation from DirectLease. This authorisation and the traffic ticket itself are attached to the email message we sent you. If you did not receive this email, please contact us by phone or email.   We will then send you the authorisation as soon as possible.

Tip: make sure to include your lease vehicle's licence plate number and the judgement number listed on the ticket.

    Want to file an objection?
When you send an email or letter to the organisation that issued your traffic ticket, it helps to include the following information:

    • Name and address information
    • Your lease vehicle's licence plate number
    • The specifications of the ticket
    • The location and date of the violation
    • Why you believe the ticket is unwarranted
    • The authorisation from DirectLease B.V.
    • Any relevant evidence
