  • I want all-season or all-weather tyres. Is that possible?

    Our standard lease package includes summer tyres. Of course, you can also include all-season tyres in your lease agreement. You can add this option under the heading 'winter tyre scheme’ while selecting your lease vehicle.

    All-season tyres
    As their name implies, these tyres are suitable for driving in all seasons. They feature an M+S logo, which means they can be used to drive in e.g. Germany.

    Tip: if you choose all-season tyres, your vehicle's tyres will not be changed to summer or winter tyres.

  • I want to get winter tyres for my lease vehicle later on. Is that possible?

     

    After signing your lease agreement, you may decide that you want winter tyres after all. Don't worry, we can arrange that for you. If you opt for winter tyres, we will spread out their total cost across the entire contract duration of your lease agreement. If you have had your lease vehicle for some time, you will have to pay a one-time retroactive fee for this period. Starting with the next lease payment, you will pay the new lease price (which includes the cost of the winter tyres).

  • When should I have the winter tyres put on my lease vehicle?

    As winter approaches, you can make an appointment with the dealer or the supplier where your winter tyres are stored to have them put on your lease vehicle. Given the high demand for winter tyres, we advise you to do so in a timely manner.

    Is this your first time scheduling a tyre change?
    Visit a Van Mossel location near you to have your vehicle's tyres changed. Van Mossel will also store your winter tyres, so you have nothing to worry about.  

    Note: winter tyres are more prone to wear and tear than summer tyres, especially in temperatures over 7 degrees Celsius. It is important not to wait too long to switch out your winter tyres for summer tyres.

  • How many winter tyres are included in the lease agreement?

    If your lease agreement includes winter tyres, you are entitled to six winter tyres over the course of your contract period.

  • I have a flat tyre, what now?

    Getting a flat tyre is a nuisance. Perhaps you can still make it to the nearest brand dealer. They can certainly help you out. You can also drive to a Euromaster, Kwikfit or Profile Tyre location near you.

    If you cannot continue on your way because the tyre is completely flat, you must call the ANWB at 0592 - 390 537. 

    If you are abroad, you must call the ANWB's international number at +31(0)70 314 50 68.

  • How do you handle tyre damage?

     

    A tyre is considered damaged if it has to be replaced or repaired for reasons other than normal wear and tear. If the tyre can be repaired, DirectLease will cover the costs.

    If the tyre cannot be repaired, we will bill the costs to you. These costs are determined based on the tyre's remaining profile depth. Keep in mind that tyres with a profile depth of two millimetres or less will always be replaced.

    Example: we use the following figures in our calculation:
    New tyre: €100
    Profile depth of new tyre: 8 mm
    Remaining profile depth of the damaged tyre: 5 mm
    Available profile: 8 mm – 2 mm = 6 mm

    Let's say the damaged tyre has a remaining profile depth of 5 mm. In theory, you could have used this tyre until it reached a profile depth of 2 mm. As the tyre is damaged, 3 mm will go unused. This means we will charge you for 3/6th of the cost of the new tyre.

    In this example, that means a cost of: €100 / (3/6) = €50

  • Are winter tyres mandatory abroad?

    Are you travelling abroad during the winter months (1 November to 15 April)? We advise you to take a look at the website of the ANWB before your trip. On this website, you can find more information about the laws and regulations that apply in countries such as Germany, France, Norway and Austria.

    If you are planning on driving through the mountains, it is a good idea to bring snow chains. Tip: when purchasing snow chains, pay close attention to their size. Not all snow chains will fit on the rims of your lease vehicle.

  • Where can I store my winter tyres?

    The winter is over, so it's time to put your summer tyres back on your vehicle. You can schedule an appointment at a Van Mossel location near you to have your vehicle's tyres changed. They will also store your winter tyres, so you have nothing to worry about.

    If you had your lease vehicle's tyres changed in the past, you must contact the same tyre supplier you used before.   They will still have your current set of winter tyres in storage.

  • What brand of winter tyres will I get from DirectLease?

    In consultation with DirectLease, your dealer will advise you on what tyre is best for your lease vehicle. We only use tyres from A-list manufactures.
