• I lost my vehicle registration card or it was stolen. What should I do?

    If your vehicle registration card is lost or stolen, please contact DirectLease by phone or email. Since we are the legal owner of the lease vehicle, only we can request a new registration card from the Dutch Vehicle Authority (RDW). Once we receive the new card, we will send it to you as quickly as possible.

    Please note: The costs for the new registration card, along with administrative fees, will be charged to the contract holder.

  • What should I keep in mind when receiving a temporary car?

    If you need a replacement vehicle for any reason, we’ll arrange that for you. These temporary cars are rented through third parties, which means you’ll receive a separate contract from the rental company. Make sure to read it carefully to avoid any surprises later.

    When receiving the temporary car, please consider the following points:

    • Does the car need to be returned with a full tank?

    • Where should the car be returned?

    • Will the car be picked up, and are there extra charges for that?

    • Do I need to report the return of the vehicle?

    • Am I responsible for bringing the car back myself?

  • I lost my key, what should I do?

    If you’ve lost your car key or it has been stolen, visit an official brand dealer as soon as possible to have the spare key reprogrammed. This ensures that no one can use the lost or stolen key to start the car.

    Have you also lost the spare key? In that case, please contact DirectLease by phone or email. Together, we’ll determine the next steps.

    Important:
    Unfortunately, the costs for replacing a lost or stolen key are not covered under warranty. These expenses are your own responsibility.

  • What should I do if my vehicle breaks down abroad?

    Experiencing car trouble while traveling is never ideal, especially when you are far from home. That is why we aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

    Location details
    To locate you, we will use GPS data. If that is not enough, you may be asked to provide a road number and a kilometre marker.

    Repair costs
    Garages abroad often do not offer free repairs, even if your vehicle is still under factory warranty. In such cases, DirectLease Roadside Help may be able to guarantee payment directly to the garage.
    If that is not possible, you will need to pay the repair invoice yourself and submit an expense claim for reimbursement.
