• My registration certificate was lost/stolen. What should I do?

If you lost your registration certificate or it was stolen, you must contact DirectLease by telephone or email.   As we are the registered owner of the lease vehicle, only we can request a new registration certificate from the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW). Once we receive the card, we will send it to you as soon as possible.

Note: keep in mind that the costs of the new registration certificate and any administrative fees will be charged to the contracting party.

  • What should I look out for when accepting a replacement vehicle?

If you need replacement transport for any reason whatsoever, we can arrange that for you! We rent these vehicles from third parties, which means they will offer you a rental agreement. Be sure to read this agreement carefully to prevent surprises down the road.

When accepting a replacement vehicle, please be mindful of the following:

    • Do you have to refuel the vehicle before returning it?
    • Where can you return the vehicle?
    • Will the vehicle be picked up and will you have to pay extra for this service?
    • Do you have to deregister the vehicle somehow?
    •  Do you have to return the vehicle yourself?

  • I lost my key. What should I do?

If you lost your key or it was stolen, you must visit an official dealer as soon as possible to have your spare key reprogrammed.   This ensures no one else can use the key they stole or found to start your vehicle.

If you also lost your spare key, you must contact DirectLease by telephone or email.   Together, we will discuss what steps you have to take.

Note: unfortunately, the costs of a new key are not covered by your warranty if the original key was lost or stolen. All costs will be for your own account.

  • What should I do if my vehicle breaks down in another country?

Car trouble on the road is never fun – especially for you! That’s why we want to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.

    DirectLease Roadside Help
Are you stuck with car trouble abroad and can’t continue driving? Call DirectLease Roadside Help right away: +31 (0)541 571 750.

    Location
To find out where you are, we’ll use GPS data. If that’s not enough, you may be asked for a road number and a kilometre marker.

    Repair costs

Unfortunately, garages abroad often don’t repair your car for free — even if it’s still under factory warranty. DirectLease Roadside Help is allowed to guarantee payment for the repair. If that’s not possible, you’ll need to pay the invoice yourself first. You can then request reimbursement using our expense claim form. Want the invoice made out to DirectLease? Just let us know.
