• My registration certificate was lost/stolen. What should I do?

If you lost your registration certificate or it was stolen, you must contact DirectLease by telephone or email.   As we are the registered owner of the lease vehicle, only we can request a new registration certificate from the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW). Once we receive the card, we will send it to you as soon as possible.

Note: keep in mind that the costs of the new registration certificate and any administrative fees will be charged to the contracting party.

  • What should I look out for when accepting a replacement vehicle?

If you need replacement transport for any reason whatsoever, we can arrange that for you! We rent these vehicles from third parties, which means they will offer you a rental agreement. Be sure to read this agreement carefully to prevent surprises down the road.

When accepting a replacement vehicle, please be mindful of the following:

    • Do you have to refuel the vehicle before returning it?
    • Where can you return the vehicle?
    • Will the vehicle be picked up and will you have to pay extra for this service?
    • Do you have to deregister the vehicle somehow?
    •  Do you have to return the vehicle yourself?

  • I lost my key. What should I do?

If you lost your key or it was stolen, you must visit an official dealer as soon as possible to have your spare key reprogrammed.   This ensures no one else can use the key they stole or found to start your vehicle.

If you also lost your spare key, you must contact DirectLease by telephone or email.   Together, we will discuss what steps you have to take.

Note: unfortunately, the costs of a new key are not covered by your warranty if the original key was lost or stolen. All costs will be for your own account.

  • What should I do if my vehicle breaks down in another country?

If your vehicle breaks down, that is very unpleasant! We want to do everything we can to get you back on the road as soon as possible.

    ANWB Alarm Centre
If your vehicle breaks down abroad and you cannot continue on your way, you must immediately contact the ANWB Alarm Centre:   +31(0)70 314 50 68.  You can contact the ANWB 24/7 by calling this number. The ANWB will help you get the roadside assistance you need to get you back on the road.

    Corona guideline
More information about the guidelines in red and yellow regions can be found at DirectLease Lease drivers > Breakdown

    Location
The ANWB will use GPS data to determine your location. If that is not enough, they will ask you for a road number and kilometre marking.

    Repair costs
Unfortunately, most foreign workshops will not perform repairs for free - not even if your vehicle is still under warranty.   The ANWB Alarm Centre can offer a guarantee for the repair costs. If that is not possible, you will have to pay the repair costs yourself.   You can claim these costs later by filling out the claim form. Please ask the workshop to put the invoice in DirectLease's name.
