Are you planning to take a trip in your lease vehicle within or outside Europe? The insurance certificate (green card) lists the countries you can travel to and where the car is insured.
To avoid potential problems while you are away on holiday with your lease vehicle, be sure to check the engine oil, coolant and tyre pressure before you leave and make sure the car has undergone periodical maintenance.

We also advise you to bring the following three documents:
- Registration certificate
- Insurance certificate (green card). You can download the most recent version here: Insurance certificate / green card (directlease.nl). Check whether you are required to carry a printed version as well using this link: https://www.cobx.org/highcharts-maps
- European Accident Statement
If the car is not registered in your name (see registration certificate), you will also need a foreign declaration (business lease) to visit the following countries.
Albania, Algeria, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia (former Yugoslav Republic), Morocco, Moldova, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and Belarus.
This declaration states that you, as the driver of the lease vehicle, are authorised to drive the car.
Are you travelling to Morocco, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine or Algeria? Here are the extra steps you have to take:
If you are travelling to one of the aforementioned countries, having a foreign declaration is not enough. As a driver in these countries, you need a legalised authorisation. We can arrange this for you.
Send an email to info@directlease.nl with your name, your vehicle's licence plate number and the country you want to travel to. We will then send you the required documentation via UPS through exportdocumenten.nl.
Tip: be sure to apply for a foreign declaration on time, at least three weeks before departure. Also leave enough time to have your declaration legalised, if necessary.
Drawing up the authorisation costs around €35. This amount will be billed to your employer.
